WHAT YOU VISIT

Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show
The Travel Channel calls the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show one of the "Top 10 Things to See in Alaska." From the comfort of covered, heated and cushioned grandstands, you'll get to see Alaska's frontier lumberjacks battle British Columbia's premier woodsmen in a no-holds-barred competition for the title "Bull of the Woods." These world champion athletes are featured in springboard chopping, buck sawing, axe throwing, log rolling and the thrilling 50-foot tree climb, while the colorful host delights the crowd with stories of lumberjack lore.

George Inlet Lodge
Nestled on the ocean against a backdrop of fir trees, this historic building was once an old cannery bunkhouse originally located 90 miles away. Two local business men moved the bunkhouse to its present location at the site of an old gold mine.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
At the end of the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show, you can have your picture taken with the "surviving" lumberjack. (Videotaping of the show is not permitted).

SHOPPING
Be sure to visit the gift shop inside the George Inlet Lodge for a special souvenir for your visit.

LUNCH
Come hungry for the crab feast at the rustic-yet-elegant George Inlet Lodge. Dine on succulent Dungeness crab with butter, salad and a fabulous cheesecake with blueberry toppings for dessert (vegetarian and non-crab options are available).

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
The fir-clad mountains of Tongass National Forest and the Tongass Narrows and Herring Bay waterways will accompany you from the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show to George Inlet Lodge.
