Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

Your excursion begins with a narrated transfer to historic Knudson Cove Marina. You'll receive a safety briefing, board your vessel then depart for the fishing grounds. En route, you'll purchase your fishing license directly from your captain, so be sure to bring a method of payment.

Upon arrival, you'll troll for salmon and test your sportfishing skills in the sheltered waters of Clover Passage for approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. Your catch can be processed locally and shipped to your home for an additional charge, or cooked on board for dinner (limit one fish per person) - it's your choice.

An Alaska smoked salmon snack and beverages will be served during the excursion. After returning to the dock, your Alaskan fishing guide will assist with taking photos of the day's catch. Keep an eye out for eagles, whales, seals, sea lions or other wildlife. Transfer back to the ship with memories of a relaxing fishing trip in the "Salmon Capital of the World."

Princess Cruises' Cook My Catch is our exclusive culinary experience highlighting the pinnacle of fresh seafood. Our chefs can cook and serve fish caught while on select fishing excursions in Alaska. Guests can choose their preferred preparation and accompaniments for their fresh-caught seafood. This unique dining experience is available onboard. Fish must be caught while on select Princess approved excursions and can be served for lunch or dinner - a unique way to enjoy your very own, wild Alaska seafood.

Special Notes:

Minimum age is 5. Deck or rubber-soled shoes must be worn on the boat. Boats will carry a maximum of 6 guests. Please remember you are purchasing the opportunity to catch fish, not a guarantee of doing so. Fish runs are dependent on spawning seasons, so during May and late-September fish stock may be more limited. All safety equipment and fishing gear is provided.

A fishing license is required and can be purchased onboard your boat for $25 cash per person. When king salmon is targeted, a $15 per person additional retention tag is required. Children under 16 are not required to purchase a license.

Trolling with downriggers is the method of fishing used on this excursion. Generally, the fishing rods are placed in holders and lines are lowered to specific depths. Participants do not hold the rods until fish are hooked. When a salmon strikes the fisherman then removes the rod from the holder, sets the hook with a slight jerk and plays the fish. Usually, five to six fishermen are assigned per boat.

Your catch can be processed and shipped home for an additional charge as arranged by the tour operator. Because of its perishable nature and U.S. Customs regulations, your catch may not be sent outside of the United States in most cases. Due to federal regulations, your catch may not be stored onboard your cruise ship, but may be prepared for dinner onboard.

Provided: Fishing gear, rain jacket

Snack: Smoked Salmon, crackers, cookies, coffee, soda, water

Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
