Trek to a Sitka visitors rarely see on this active three-hour bike and hike tour.

Begin by boarding a bus at your pier and embark on a brief scenic drive through the stunning Alaska landscape. Throughout the journey your friendly and knowledgeable guide will share scintillating stories of Sitka's natural and cultural history. Your destination is the site of the old Alaska Pulp Mill in Sawmill Cove. Once a thriving mill, its tenants now include a salmon processing plant and a 3/4-acre bear refuge. Here you will visit a bike shop to gear up for your bike riding adventure. Then select a bike and start pedaling!

Ride through gently rolling hills on a 4-mile nature route that is nestled between the Pacific Ocean and captivating mountains lined with towering spruce trees. Have your cameras at the ready as you stop at the picturesque Thimbleberry Creek for a short hike that crosses a cascading waterfall and ends at a small glistening lake surrounded by a breathtaking vista. After your brief hike back, mount up for a bike ride to Whale Park. This beautiful seaside park features boardwalks with viewing scopes for observation of Alaska's amazing wildlife which can include majestic humpback whales during their migration season. Descend staircases to the beach for an exploration of the tidal zone, teeming with marine life. Indulge in a complimentary bar of locally made chocolate as you breathe in the fresh sea air and take in the awe-inspiring beauty of this unspoiled landscape.
