Explore the incredible underwater world of Sitka Sound on this moderately active, guided two-and-a-half hour snorkeling adventure!

Your excursion begins at the pier where your snorkel adventure team will provide you with a dry suit to slip on over your street clothes (loose-fitting, warm layers are best) as well as a mask, fins, snorkel, hood, gloves and a towel. Then receive an orientation on your gear as well as the conditions at the snorkeling location before heading out on your excursion.

Board a van for a brief drive to your snorkel site, then walk to the water's edge and step into an undersea paradise! Southeast Alaska has some of the most productive waters in the world. Long summer days, the Kiroshio current, and the lack of glaciers in the area, stimulate an abundance of colorful marine life many would only expect in the tropics. And the visibility is often much better!

As your dry suit keeps you warm, buoyant and, yes, even dry, swim through shallow waters teeming with some of the most colorful sights imaginable. Marvel at sea stars, sun stars, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, crabs and a variety of fish that teem in the cool crystalline waters. Take in the beauty of kelp forests and lush eelgrass beds that move gracefully in rhythm with the ocean currents. As you float through this aquatic wonderland, your certified local guides will be more than happy to share their knowledge of the area and the breathtaking wildlife you are encountering. The vivid colors and abundant marine life of this stunning eco-system are sure to provide you with a memorable experience.

Following your snorkel adventure, step back onto the beach and contemplate the wonder and beauty of your pristine surroundings prior to returning to your ship at the pier.

Special Notes:

Participants must weigh between 85 lbs. and 240 lbs. to ensure proper dry suit fit. Minimum age is 12. Dress warmly in layers.

Liability waiver required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.

Unaccompanied Minors Policy: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Medical Restriction:
