Sitka Guided Fly Fishing

Part art, part sport, fly fishing is fun, challenging and relaxing. So what could be better than spending time out in Sitka's stunning scenery on a sparkling river waiting for the big one to come along? This four-hour excursion is limited to only four people and if you catch one or many, the catch-and-release program ensures little environmental impact to the pristine area. And no matter your skill level, you're sure to have an enjoyable time.

When you're ready to cast off be sure to dress in layers, wear sunscreen and don't forget the camera to capture the moment you catch the big one (or the one that got away).

Your adventure begins with a walk down the pier where you'll meet your guide. From here you'll go to the fly shop and head for the outfitting room where you'll get all your necessary gear such as waders, boots, rod, reel and, of course, the delicate looking bait called flies. After a safety briefing and instructions in how to use the provided rod and reel, you're ready to board the vehicle that will take you to a secluded spot on the river.

Once you disembark, you'll gather your gear and follow your guide down to the river. Out on the water, you can't help but be in awe of your majestic, pinch-me-I-must-be-dreaming surroundings. With your experienced fishing guide by your side, you'll learn the secrets to catching a fish.

Special Notes:

MInimum age is 12 years. Participants shoud be in good health, able to walk on uneven terrain and be able to stand for long periods of time. Tour operator is authorized under special use permit to access the Tongass National Forest.

A fishing license is required and can be purchased from the tour operator for $25 cash per person. Children under 16 are not required to purchase a license. Please remember you are purchasing the opportunity to catch fish, not a guarantee of doing so. Fishing is done on a catch-and-release basis.

Provided: Fishing gear, waders (size 4-15)

Snack: Trail mix and bottled water

Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.

Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
