WHAT YOU VISIT

Fly Fishing
Enjoy the beautiful scenery on your way to the river aboard a custom-built aluminum runabout, your mode of transport to the river ensuring easy access to the shoreline and a fast, comfortable ride. Ideal for those 12 and older, the excursion includes waders and fishing gear, beverages and a shore lunch. The fishing is on an eco-conscious catch-and-release basis and it's a great way to learn about fly fishing or improve your skills in a beautiful location with a hands-on experience. Once you arrive at the Tongass National Forest, you'll join your knowledgeable guide for a hike through the woods to a secluded locale where the fish are abundant. Then, wade out into the water and cast your fly line in hopes of catching the "big one" like steelhead, salmon, trout, and char, depending on what is running.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
The ancient Tongass National Forest is the nation's largest national forest at almost 17 million acres (almost 5.7 million acres has been designated as wilderness). Home to a diverse cross-section of animals, including bears, eagles, salmon, Sitka black-tailed deer and trumpeter swans offers plenty of photo ops.

LUNCH
With the great outdoors as your dining room, you'll relax by the river with a picnic lunch of bagel or sandwich, trail mix, chips, bottled water and a Emergen-C packet.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
After a stop at the fly shop to pick up your gear, you'll board a bus for a brief scenic drive through the stunning Alaska landscape to the Tongass National Forest.

Special Notes:

Minimum age is 12 years and participants must sign a waiver and be in good physical condition. A fishing license is required and can be purchased from the tour operator for $25 per person (bring a drivers license and credit card.) Children under 16 are not required to purchase a license. Please remember you are purchasing the opportunity to catch fish, not a guarantee of doing so. Fishing is done on a catch-and-release basis. This tour operates in the Tongass National Forest under a Special Use Permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service. Not recommend for guests with mobility issues, knee, back, and hip problems. Wear sunglasses, tall socks and long comfortable pants, long sleeves and jacket.
