Looking for a unique way to take in the beauty and history of your port city of San Diego? How about from a dolphin's point of view?

That's exactly what you'll do when you embark on this two-hour, guided cruise! Simply take the short walk from your ship to the Hornblower Cruises ticket booth located next to your cruise ship terminal. After you check in, friendly crew will see to it that you are safely and comfortably situated on the Adventure Hornblower, one of the largest, fastest, most stable tour boats in Southern California!

Then set out across the sparkling waters of the Pacific for your open water adventure! Choose to enjoy the sights from within the comfortable, climate-controlled indoor area featuring large windows perfect for optimal viewing. Or take your place on a viewing platform on deck, basking in the sun and enjoying the brisk sea breeze.

As you journey your captain will provide historic anecdotes that will bring the flavor of the waterfront to life. You may even visit the Captain in the wheelhouse during the trip!

Glide past historic vessels including the Star of India - the oldest merchant vessel afloat - and her historic sister ships, the steam yacht Medea and ferryboat Berkeley. Marvel at the majesty of massive naval aircraft carriers, a navy submarine base and dry-docking and ship-building facilities.

Take in the windswept beauty of the Old Point Loma Lighthouse which has been safely guiding mariners into the harbor since 1855. On a bluff overlooking the ocean, you'll spot the Cabrillo National Monument which honors Spanish explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, the first European to set foot on what is now the West Coast of the United States in 1542.

You'll take in the breathtaking expanse of the 2-mile long Coronado Bridge and the red-tiled turrets of the elegant Victorian-style Hotel del Coronado. And of course, nothing compares to the amazing vistas of the San Diego skyline as seen from the sea. But there are natural wonders, too. The oceans here are teeming with wildlife, so have your cameras at the ready and keep a keen eye out for sea lions, sun fish, Brown Pelicans, Sea Gulls and Blue Herons. And be on the lookout for occasional dolphins that are known to frolic alongside sea vessels, serving as guides through these beautiful coastal waters.

If you are lucky and the season is right, you may even spot a magnificent whale spouting and breaching in the distance- sending glistening droplets of water spraying into the air to capture the sunlight before returning to the ocean on its annual migration from Alaska to Baja. Sightings are rare since this cruise does not leave the bay.

For your comfort and enjoyment, there is a loaded snack bar with adult beverages on board for purchase. And this kid-friendly cruise offers cute First Mate stickers and coloring maps for the little sailors in the group.

It's a satisfying and educational adventure for all!
