WHAT YOU VISIT

Mendenhall Glacier
Built into a cliff above the valley you'll find the glacier's Visitor's Center. Enjoy the interactive displays and take time to watch a short film about the glacier and the 37 other glaciers that make up the Juneau Ice Field. Take a self-guided trek along one of the many picturesque trails or hike down to Nugget Falls, a double-tiered waterfall that plunges 377 feet and 99 feet.

Juneau Tram
Your all-day ticket allows you to head straight up the mountain or detour into town and ride the tram at your leisure. Take in the beautiful views of the Chilkat Mountains, Stephens Passage, Douglas Island, and Silver Bow Basin as the tram glides 1,800 feet above sea level. At the top, learn about Alaska's raptors from a naturalist at the live bald eagle exhibit and watch local artisans create unique crafts.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Don't forget your camera, viewpoints at Mendenhall Glacier provide the perfect vantage point for photos of this world-famous sight. There are also numerous self-guided walking trails to experience the special beauty of Tongass National Forest, allowing ever-changing glimpses of the glacier. After your tram ride, the vantage point at the top of Mount Roberts allows for stunning, panoramic views of the Chilkat Mountains, Douglas Island and downtown Juneau.
