Mendenhall Glacier Guide's Choice Trail Hike

What You Visit:

Hike in Mendenhall Glacier National Recreation Area
Your small group (limited to 12 people per guide) will be led by a certified interpretive guide, as you enjoy a challenging trek through the beautiful Tonass National Forest with views of the Mendenall Glacier. Once you arrive at the trailhead, you will gear up and trek along a secluded trail with several glacier views. You'll cross bridges spanning babbling brooks, hike trails to glacier overlooks, and stroll beneath quiet forested canopies. Your guide will help you keep a look out for signs of wildlife and animals you may encounter along the trail. Your guide will choose from several excellent trails around the Mendenhall Glacier National Recreation Area, based upon the day's hiking conditions.

Photo Opportunity:
Whether you're interested in wildflowers or birds, scenery or activity, expect a refreshing outing in the glacier-carved wilderness with many opportunities for photography and lasting memories of Alaska.

Snack:
A granola bar and water will be provided during the hike.

What You See Along The Way:
Cascading waterfalls, quiet forest glens, and breathtaking glacier views are just a few of the treasured places reached only on foot.

Special Notes:

Group size is limited to 12 hikers per guide. Participants must be in good health and able to independently navigate steep terrain. Expect an elevation gain of 600 to 1,000 feet over four to six miles. The trail is selected based upon the ability of the group and the conditions of the day. Each trail has several glacier views. Wear sturdy footwear and dress warmly in layers. This tour operates in all weather conditions. Provided: Rain poncho, hip pack and hiking stick

Snack: Granola bar and bottled water

Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.

Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children under the age of 18 must have a signed parental consent form to participate without a parent or guardian.
