WHAT YOU VISIT

- Barcelona
Spain's second-largest city and the capital of the region of Catalonia, Barcelona is a cultured and cosmopolitan metropolis. A vibrant center for government, sports and the arts, it is particularly notable for its architecture, especially its Gothic churches and remarkable art nouveau structures by Antoni Gaudi.

- Barcelona Aquarium
This modern marine center is home to over 11,000 animals representing 450 species in its 35 tanks, including the 'Oceanarium,' an enormous saltwater tank for sharks and other large ocean dwellers. You can even walk through it in an 80-meter-long glass tunnel! You'll also find a café and souvenir shop.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

- Montjuic Mountain
The site of several historical fortifications, including the 17th century Castle of Montjuic. You'll want to bring your camera to capture the panoramic views of the city.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Drive through the Plaça de Cataluña and the Paseo de Gracia, a wide boulevard and shopping district that boasts superb art nouveau buildings. See the 197-foot-tall Columbus Monument, built to celebrate Christopher Columbus's triumphant return from America, and take in the Olympic Complex, the site of the 1929 International Exposition and the 1992 Summer Olympics.
