Upon arrival at Barcelona pier, it's time to meet the guide who will accompany you on this half-day narrated driving tour of the city, a particular favorite for those who have difficulty walking yet still enjoy experiencing the local sights.

First up is a striking look at the Columbus Monument, which stands 197 feet tall and was built to celebrate Christopher Columbus's triumphant return from the Americas. The bronze statue sits on top of an impressive Corinthian column and is just a taste of what is to come as you move on to the Olympic Village. This delightful part of the city was reconstructed for the 1992 Olympics and features many quirky architectural designs by Frank Gehry, and of course, influences from Catalonia's prodigal son, Antoni Gaudi.

Pass through the impressive archway of the wonderful Arc de Triomf, a red brick structure that was built in 1888 in the Moorish revival style, and look out for the sculpted stone frieze that bears the words, 'Barcelona Welcomes The Nations,' written in Spanish on the front of the arch.

Then from a distance you will have the opportunity to view the city's jewel, La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished yet strikingly modernist church which has been under construction since 1882 and is not expected to be completed until 2026. With towering spires, stained glass windows, and an intricate design, it must be seen to be believed.

Drive to the Paseo de Gracia, a wide boulevard and shopping district that boasts superb Art Nouveau buildings. Your magnificent tour continues onwards to the Plaça Catalunya, a large picturesque square located in the center of Barcelona, known for its fountains, statues, and flocks of pigeons. Nearby is the grand university building which dates back to 1450, and then it's on to Sepulveda Street which runs through to the Plaza d'Espanya and features two huge Venetian towers. Both hugely popular sites of interest with tourists, they are often used as the locations for many of the city's festivals and concerts.

Your bus tour then takes you up and out of the city center and on to the Montjuic district which is elevated and perfect for taking in wonderful panoramic views of the city. You will also have the chance to circle the Olympic complex, built to host the 1992 Summer Olympics. The opening and closing ceremonies were held at the stadium here and there will be a chance to take photographs before driving on to the fabulous Miro Foundation building. This museum of modern art was built in 1975 to honor Joan Miro, Barcelona's famous painter and sculptor, and is your last stop of the day before driving back to port and your waiting ship.
