Nestled within the Tongass National Forest, lucky hikers may see porcupine or deer while they pass by the large trees and wildflower-strewn alpine meadow. Learn about the fascinating history of the flora and fauna unique to Alaska's sub-alipine ecosystem as well the industrious miners who created the namesake ditch to create hydroelectric power.

What you will see along the way:
A 20-minute van ride from the pier takes you to the Segway base camp in picturesque Fish Creek Valley at Eaglecrest, Juneau's popular wintertime ski resort that boasts ski slopes with ocean views. While on your ride, you'll be treated to wonderful alpine scenery, the sounds of majestic eagles in flight, and endless snow-capped mountain vistas.

As you roll along the scenic trail, you'll stop at key vantage points for photos. At the halfway point, focus your lens on crystalline Fish Creek.
