WHAT YOU VISIT
The Atlantic Road
A panoramic drive along the Isfjorden brings you to Afarnes, where you'll take a short ferry ride to the village of Sølsnes and board a coach. Gaze out the window at the breathtaking scenery as you ride over pretty bridges and through an underwater tunnel before meeting up with the Atlantic Road. Stretching out a mere five miles, this scenic roadway of twists and turns has been recognized by Norway as an official 'Cultural Heritage Site' and 'National Tourist Route,' but its biggest honor came when the road was named the 'Norwegian Construction of the Century.' The road connects several small islands and skerries via viaducts, causeways, and eight bridges that boast amazing views of the Norwegian Sea.

A stop at a scenic viewpoint on the Atlantic Road offers stunning views and, if the conditions are right,
you may spot whales and seals.

LUNCH
During the day, you'll stop at a restaurant in Bud for a delicious lunch.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
The journey back to Andalsnes travels through the charming fishing village of Bud, once the largest trading post between Bergen and Trondheim in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Special Notes:

This tour is conducted mainly by coach; however some walking is required to reach the viewpoint at the Atlantic Ocean Road, and the lunch venue. The walkway at the Atlantic Ocean Road viewpoint may be slippery when wet. There are a few steps to negotiate to reach the lunch venue. The Atlantic Ocean Road is narrow with a number of curves; therefore, this tour is not suitable for those who suffer from motion sickness.
