Take in nature's bounty on this full-day excursion. Start with a leisurely drive through what is known as the "Hilo Walk of Fame" and see the banyan trees planted by celebrities. Visit Liliuokalani Gardens, the largest ornamental Japanese garden outside of Japan and view an iconic statue of King Kamehameha.

Enjoy expert commentary about Hilo town as you make your way to Wailuku State Park and the picturesque Rainbow Falls. Here, the Wailuku River plunges 100 feet into a turquoise pool. View the river through stands of orchid, bamboo and wild ginger as you return to your tour vehicle.

Travel north from Hilo along the scenic coastline, passing large farms and old sugar cane fields, to majestic Akaka State Park. View two gorgeous waterfalls - the 100-foot Kahuna Falls and the towering Akaka Falls, plunging 442 feet into an eroded gorge framed by lush rainforest. A one-mile circular stepped-path leads through the forest to the falls.

At the Nani Mau Gardens, discover different species of flowers, fruits and plants, including orchids, palms, bromeliads, heliconias and rare and endangered plant species on a self-guided tour. You will also enjoy a delicious island-style lunch buffet while at the gardens.

Finally on the way back to the pier you will discover a world of marine science at the only black-sand beach in the Hilo region.
