Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

Get serious about fishing with four hours on the water with your knowledgeable captain. Llearn from the best about the migration patterns of salmon as well as the most effective way to catch them whe you visit some of the best local fishing hotspots. This once-in-a-lifetime adventure is designed for the serious fisherperson, but is suitable for friends or families of all ages to enjoy.

You'll troll specific areas for seasonal salmon fishing as you target one species or, depending on the time of year, go for the grand slam and attempt to catch all five -- king, silver, sockeye, pink and chum. The boat has an enclosed, heated cabin, comfortable seating, plenty of viewing space and a restroom.

Snacks and cold beverages are available throughout the tour. Your captain can arrange for any fish you catch to be professionally processed locally (flash frozen, smoked, canned etc.) and shipped to your home for an additional charge, or cooked on board for dinner (limit one fish per person) - it's your choice.

Princess Cruises' Cook My Catch is our exclusive culinary experience highlighting the pinnacle of fresh seafood. Our chefs can cook and serve fish caught while on select fishing excursions in Alaska. Guests can choose their preferred preparation and accompaniments for their fresh-caught seafood. This unique dining experience is available onboard. Fish must be caught while on select Princess approved excursions and can be served for lunch or dinner - a unique way to enjoy your very own, wild Alaska seafood.

Special Notes:

Dress in layers and bring a waterproof jacket and sunglasses. Boats will carry a maximum of 6 guests. Please remember you are purchasing the opportunity to catch fish, not a guarantee of doing so. Fish runs are dependent on spawning seasons, so during May and late-September fish stock may be more limited. All safety equipment and fishing gear is provided.

A fishing license is required and can be purchased onboard your boat for $25 cash per person. When king salmon is targeted, a $15 per person additional retention tag is required. Children under 16 are not required to purchase a license.

Trolling with downriggers is the method of fishing used on this excursion. Generally, four rods are placed in holders and lines are lowered to specific depths. Participants do not hold the rods until fish are hooked. Fishermen then take the rod on a rotating basis to land their catch.

Your catch can be processed and shipped home for an additional charge as arranged by the tour operator. Because of its perishable nature and U.S. Customs regulations, your catch may not be sent outside of the United States in most cases. Due to federal regulations, your catch may not be stored onboard your cruise ship, but may be prepared for dinner onboard.
