Mountaintop Gondola
Elevate your Icy Strait Point adventure on the state-of-the-art Mountaintop Gondola. Soar high above the treetops with undisturbed Glacier Bay views as you reach 1,500 feet above the base of Icy Strait Point to the top of Hoonah Mountain. Disembark and enjoy access to scenic nature trails, magnificent views of the icefields and Glacier Bay National Park, and the world's largest ZipRider experience (additional tour you may purchase).
Forest Tram
An open-air guided tram ride is a relaxed and informative way to explore a six-mile, round-trip route through old-growth forest. Take in the splendor of the natural surroundings and admire the Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and colorful wildflowers that fill your camera and reflect beautifully on a glassine mountain lake. Learn about the ecological and cultural significance of the forest's flora and fauna, the history of the island's Tlingit people, and their ties to this rich land.
What you will see along the way:
Located near Glacier Bay and the native settlement of Hoonah, Icy Strait Point is situated in an old-growth spruce and hemlock rainforest, home to an incredibly diverse wildlife population. Humpback whales, orcas, Dall's porpoises, seals and sea otters populate the local waterways, while brown bears and bald eagles call the land home. Views, views and more views stretch for miles as your gondola climbs to the top of Hoonah Mountain, so bring your camera to capture the vistas that extend over sparkling Glacier Bay.
