What you will visit:
Catamaran Coastal Cruise & Swim
The "Mediteraneo," an impressive 42-foot lagoon 420 catamaran whisks you away for a sailing experience that includes an opportunity to swim and snorkel (bring your own equipment) in the blue Aegean Sea. Admire the beauty of Corfu, with its sparking beaches, mountains strewn with colorful flowers, and historical sites from the sea. Set sail for a highlights cruise that makes the most of the natural beauty and historical highlights around the island. The beloved island of the Ionian archipelago, Corfu town is anchored by its magnificent fortress. The Venetians constructed the fortress between 1572 and 1645 to protect the city's west side. Completed by both the French and British, the Old Fortress stands guard over the town and harbor and is considered an architectural masterpiece.
What you will see along the way:
A short bus ride will transport you to Gouvia marina. As you set sail, take in the pretty views of Corfu town, the fortress and the ancient Venetian walls. You'll cruise south toward Mon Repos Palace, formerly used by the Greek royal family as a summer residence. Here, the anchor is dropped for picture-postcard views (and a swim if desired). Continue to Pontikonissi (mouse island), one of the most famous locations of Corfu, for its turquoise waters. The return to port passes Corfu once more and heads toward your last stop at Vidos, a secluded island and protected bird and wildlife sanctuary.
Snacks:
Greek delicacies are served onboard, buffet style. The sample menu includes Greek salad "tzatziki," grape leaves (dolmades), such sides as oven potatoes and mixed vegetables, and main plates like chicken in the oven, Corfiot "pastitsada" and moussaka. Beverages include a welcome drink, water, soft drinks, Greek beer and wine.
Special Notes:
Special dietary requests/restrictions must be communicated in advance to the Shore Excursions Office for the menu to be adapted accordingly. The scheduled stops are subject to weather conditions and may be replaced with alternatives should the skipper consider it necessary. Bring head cover, sunglasses, sunblock and towel. Wear a swimsuit. Limited snorkeling equipment is available onboard the catamaran. We recommend that, if you wish to snorkel, you bring your own equipment along. The tour operates between May and September.Details
