Helicopter Glacier Walkabout

Flying over southeast Alaska's breathtaking landscape, you will be able to view Mother Nature in all its glory on this wonderful adventure that lasts just over three hours.

Your mode of transport for the day is a modern, turbine helicopter, and your expert pilot will set the scene by flying you over the plentiful lush rainforest and stunning granite peaks that surround the magnificent Juneau Icefield.

With 1,500 square miles of glacial terrain to choose from, your pilot will set your small party down on one of the 36 spectacular glaciers, in preparation for your wonderful walkabout on ice. During this active one-hour glacier walk, your professional guide will provide you with detailed explanations of glacier environments, and allow plenty of time for you to take photographs.

Rain and windproof outerwear, boots and gloves will be provided for your comfort while on the ice. In addition, trekking poles and crampons will also be provided, enabling you to travel easily over the gently rolling landscape. You will also be provided with water and snack pack that contains a granola bar. After you have fully absorbed this incredible natural wonder, it will be time to climb back onto the helicopter for the equally awe-inspiring flight home. Keep your cameras at the ready, as you never know what wildlife you might spot from your aerial seat.

Special Notes:

Minimum age is 8. Participants must be able to stand and walk for one hour. Weight surcharge ($130) may apply on this flight. Due to weight and balance limitations, as well as passenger safety and comfort, the helicopter companies have advised that guests weighing 250 lbs. or more (fully clothed) will be assessed the weight surcharge to reserve adequate space onboard the helicopter. Guests weighing 250 lbs. or more should reserve an extra surcharge ticket and, once onboard, go to the Tour Office to have the ticket charge adjusted down to the surcharge amount. Refer to the FAQ section for important information about flightseeing.

Carry-on bags are not allowed and there is limited secure storage at the heliport. iPads, iPad minis, tablets, drones and Go-Pro Sticks or other extendable items are not permitted on tour. Aircraft fly no higher than 7,000 feet. Oxygen for personal use is allowed but must be in the form of an FAA approved portable oxygen concentrator that can be secured to the user's body.

Helicopter excursions are not refundable unless cancelled by 12:00pm on the day after embarkation.

Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.

Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
