What you will visit:

Florence (2.5-hours on your own)
Florence is one of Italy's most artistically significant cities and arguably the seat of the Renaissance. Take to the streets and absorb the culture. Sample the Florentine cafes. View the stunning art and architecture of other remarkable highlights including the Uffizi Museum and Gallery, one the Western world's oldest and most famous museums, and Pitti Palace. Or visit the Duomo where, upon entering, you can look up to view the dome's interior, adorned with a fresco of the Last Supper and beautiful stained glass. Other can't miss attractions include the Piazza Della Signoria as well the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge and the St. Croce Square and Church.

Greve (45-minutes on your own)

Nestled in the lush countryside, the town of Greve, is the center and unofficial capitol of the Chianti region. Dating back to the 11th Century, the town is anchored by the Franciscan monastery at the heart of the old part of the city and the triangular main piazza, where a market has been running continuously for centuries. Browse the colorful stalls and take in the Wine Museum (time permitting) to "toast" to your quintessential Italiano day.

What you will see along the way:
As you travel from Florence to Greve, take in breathtaking views of the green rolling hills, wide fields of vineyards and olive groves, small stone villages, characteristic parishes and countryside homes in stone are so beautiful, you'll find pictures of them on postcards and calendars all over the world. Many of the area wineries also feature Castellos, or castles.

Lunch:
Dine on a delightful three-course meal with mineral water and local wine: Savor a rich selection of bruschetta with fresh tomato and herbs, beans, extra virgin olive oil and garlic; 2 first courses (penne with vegetables, pappardelle with boar ragout); dessert (Cantuccini and sweet wine), water and wine.

Shopping:
In Greve, peruse the triangular main piazza, where a marketplace has been running more or less continuously for centuries serving the nearby castle communities and hamlets.

Special Notes:

Please note, free time may be modified to adhere to local regulations and guidelines for COVID 19 protocols.

The drive between Livorno and Florence is approximately 1 1/2 hours each way, subject to traffic conditions. The drive back from Greve in Chianti to Livorno is approximately 1 3/4 hours.
