What you will visit:
Lipa Cave Exploration
One of the largest cave systems in Montenegro is now one of its most popular attractions. The first written account of Lipa Cave was by an English researcher who visited it in 1839. Boasting 1.5 miles (2.5 km) of secret passages and narrow halls, this playful and unique underground world of stalagmites and stalactites, secret chambers and underground rivers is explored on guided tours. Guests are outfitted in a helmet with head lamp and advised to dress warmly, as the air is chilly and the average temperature is 50°F (10 °C). This tour is not recommended for those who are claustrophobic.
What you will see along the way:
Enjoy a scenic drive along the Budva Riviera, Montenegro's coastal resort area developed around a small peninsula. Upon arrival at Lipa Cave, take a moment to admire superlative views of Skadar Lake and the majestic peaks of the Kuckih Mountains.
Snack:
In the charming little village of Njegusi, you'll be treated to a snack of smoked ham, cheese and homemade bread, accompanied by a glass of wine.
Special Notes:
There is approximately 1 hour of walking on this tour, as well as around 30 steps to negotiate inside the Cave (there is alternative route without steps but is bit downhill/uphill). The ground inside the cave can be slippery; non-slip shoes are recommended. Please refrain from touching the stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave. The temperature inside the cave is between 10-12°C, therefore a light jacket, long trousers and closed shoes are recommended. Guests suffering from claustrophobia should not participate.Details
