This superlative day out starts at busy Marseille pier, where you will meet your friendly guide before boarding your air-conditioned motorcoach for the scenic drive through Provencal countryside. Meet your guide and begin your day by driving through scenic drive through Provencal countryside.

You will drive to the Luberon mountain massif, one of the most beautiful natural sites in the region, where you will be enthralled by the striking panoramas, picturesque hill-top villages and incredible rocky landscapes.

Here, you will visit the Château de Lourmarin, an extravagant building that dates back to the 15th-century and boasts eye-catching Renaissance architecture. Entering the courtyard which is used throughout the summer months for piano recitals and classical concerts, you will tour the Renaissance wing, which contains large chimneys decorated with Corinthian columns. Your guide will show you the grand staircase, and the 15th-century library. Outside on the terrace, you will enjoy the stunning views of the Durance valley, and the three bell towers of Lourmarin town.

Climbing back onto the motorcoach, head through more breath-taking countryside, to Roussillon, one of the prettiest villages of the Luberon massif. The town is situated in the heart of one of the biggest ochre deposits in the world, and you will be able to see how the cliffs are composed of yellow, red and white sands, combined with sandstones and ores. This color scheme runs throughout the village, which features charming squares, vivid flower displays, and fascinating architecture.

Savor a typical French meal served with wine at a local restaurant, before browsing the boutiques, art galleries and Provençal fabrics shops, soaking up the atmosphere, as you stroll along the narrow streets.

Heading back to Marseille you will stop at a glorious viewpoint from which you can see Gordes, an uneven village built on a dramatic rocky crag.

Special Notes:

The tour includes walking over uneven paths and climbing stairs. Passengers with limited mobility should take this into consideration. Shopping is limited in villages outside of the main touristic season.
