Manhattan to Brooklyn: Walk the Brooklyn Bridge

Your excursion begins at the pier where you'll board your air-conditioned transportation and travel to the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge. Here, you'll start your walk across the Brooklyn Bridge that spans the East River. Enjoy the bird's-eye view of New York Harbor. Learn about the history of the bridge, the boroughs it spans and the Roeblings, the family that built it. There are benches and historic plaques along the way that your guide will point out, offering a perfect opportunity to pause and take in the impressive views. A multitude of photo opportunities abound: the New York skyline, the nearby Manhattan Bridge, or look skyward and you may spot one of the Peregrine Falcons that sometimes perch on the bridge cables.

This leisurely walk across the bridge takes approximately one hour and covers a distance of one-and-a-half miles. Upon arrival on the Brooklyn side of the bridge, you'll stop at Fulton Landing for a well deserved break. This is the site of a historic revolutionary war retreat where you will have a postcard perfect photo opportunity of the skyline of the "Big Apple." Afterwards, enjoy a guided drive through Manhattan, passing many landmarks, including Times Square, the Financial District, World Trade Center & 9/11 Memorial and more, en route to your cruise ship.

Special Notes:

This tour will operate rain or shine and includes approximately 2 hours of walking. Wear comfortable walking shoes, a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain, and don't forget to bring your camera.

If your ship is docked in Brooklyn, tour will run in reverse order.
