Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

The world changed forever on September 11, 2001. Just nine months after billions of people greeted the new millennium terrorists carried out suicide attacks against the United States, which resulted in the deaths of 3,000 people at the World Trade Center, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
But out of the ashes rose the National September 11 Memorial & Museum complex. This moving tribute is dedicated to the memory of those who perished that day, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993, and stands as an affirmation of New York's recovery and indomitable spirit.

Your half-day excursion begins in Midtown at the Cruise Terminal. After boarding your transportation your on-board guide will point out areas of interest and commentary as you make your way along the west side of Manhattan.

Finally, you'll reach Lower Manhattan and the site of the World Trade Center. After you arrive your guide will escort you to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Then, you'll have approximately two hours to independently explore the museum at your own pace.
Once you walk past the blond-wood atrium you'll come face-to-face with two rusted steel columns that mark the footprints of the original Twin Towers. From here, you'll descend a gently sloped ramp and make your way 70 feet below ground into the Museum's 110,000-square-foot gallery space, which details the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives and a collection of more than 10,000 artifacts such as first responder vehicles, photographs, personal effects and memorabilia, and remnants of the Twin Towers.

At the conclusion of your tour you'll rejoin your guide who'll lead you to the 9/11 Memorial. Situated on the site of the original World Trade Center complex the Memorial, like the Museum, is a tribute to the victims, the survivors and to their loved ones.

You'll have 30 minutes to meander the serene eight-acre tree-lined Memorial Plaza. Pause at the impressive waterfalls and reflecting pools, an oasis of tranquility created to exude a spirit of hope and resolve.

After your peaceful and meditative stroll you'll walk to your transportation for a contemplative ride back to the pier.
