WHAT YOU VISIT
- Basseterre Scenic Drive
This charming capital of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is one of the oldest towns in the Eastern Caribbean. Founded in 1627 by the French, it served as the capital of the French colony of St. Christophe, eventually growing into a vibrant merchant port. Today, its colonial past is evident in the city's many restored Victorian and Georgian gingerbread buildings.

- Caribelle Batik
A visit inside the studios offers a look at how Caribelle's signature fabrics are created. Watch artisans hand-print fabrics by the 2,500-year-old Indonesian wax-and-dye process known as batik.

- Romney Manor
Take a leisurely walk among the ruins, petroglyphs, botanical gardens and rainforest of this former sugar plantation once owned by San Jefferson II, an ancestor of U.S. President Thomas Jefferson.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Timothy Hill Lookout provides a view of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean where it meets the Caribbean Sea. Within the two bodies of water you'll see lush, green foliage and the gently sloping hills of the southeast peninsula of St. Kitts from your vantage point above. You'll even be able to see the neighboring island of Nevis in the distance.

SHOPPING
Following your tour of Caribelle Batik, be sure to stop in the gift shop and purchase a lovely batik garment as a memento of your trip.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
As you drive through town, your driver will point out landmarks like Independence Square, St. George's Anglican Church, the Berkeley Memorial, and the Queen Victoria Statue Roundabout.
