WHAT YOU VISIT
- Caribelle Batik
A visit inside the studios offers a look at how Caribelle's signature fabrics are created. Watch artisans hand-print fabrics by the 2,500-year-old Indonesian wax-and-dye process known as batik.

- Romney Manor
Once owned by an ancestor of U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, the lovely estate is the gateway to a lush rainforest. Your guide will meet you here for an exhilarating walk along a pleasant, looped trail that takes you deep into the cool rainforest, providing commentary on the native flora and fauna. Marvel at the rich biodiversity of this well wooded area. See coconut palms, Poinciana's, and palmettos as well as lemon trees, bougainvillea, hibiscus, tamarind and more.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
St. Kitts is dotted with intriguing rock carvings, or petroglyphs, made by the original Carib inhabitants before the Europeans arrived in the 17th century. The most prominent are on two large rocks near Romney Manor. Some experts think they depict images of the Carib Zemi, or gods, although others believe they were fertility symbols.

SNACK
After your walk, enjoy a selection of homemade local fruit juices, fresh seasonal fruit, pastries, and spring water.

SHOPPING
Following your tour of Caribelle Batik, be sure to stop in the gift shop and purchase a lovely batik garment as a memento of your trip.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Your route takes you along Basseterre's quaint streets and past its historic buildings, many decked out in gingerbread Victorian trim.
