WHAT YOU VISIT
- The Simpson Bay Lagoon
Escape the crowds and paddle your way around beautiful Simpson Bay Lagoon, which divides the French and Dutch sides of the island. A scenic drive through Philipsburg takes you to Kim Sha Beach, a popular kayaking spot. After a kayaking lesson and safety orientation, you'll push off and follow your guide at a leisurely pace across the bay and under the bridge into the Simpson Bay Lagoon, framed by a long curve of white sand beach.

Marvel at the magnificent mega yachts that make St. Maarten their winter base from November to April. After passing the luxurious marinas, you'll stop to enjoy the peace and quiet while learning about St. Maarten's vibrant history as well as the Lagoon's complex ecosystem.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Keep your eyes open-the lagoon is known for its mangrove trees that are home to birds, iguanas, fish and other sea life.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
From the pier, you'll pass through Philipsburg and over Cay Hill, which is known for its magnificent views of the neighboring islands.
