WHAT YOU VISIT
- Buck Island Marine Sanctuary
If you've ever wanted to get your feet wet and try scuba diving, then this beginner's course is for you. Developed by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), you'll learn how to use the included equipment, deal with water pressure, and breathe through a regulator. From the pier you'll board a 45-foot-long catamaran and cruise to Buck Island Marine Sanctuary, a National Wildlife Marine Reserve. After the orientation and practice, you'll join your instructor on an actual scuba dive to a shipwreck, which rests in the shallow waters.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Marine life is abundant around the wreck. Have your underwater camera ready to capture magnificent coral reefs, teeming with green sea turtles, octopus, conch, urchins, starfish, squid, and a variety of tropical reef fish.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
As you near Buck Island, you'll see the 100-year steel lighthouse, which stands over the island's 45 acres of cactus and grassland. Bird watchers may see tropic birds, frigate birds, laughing gulls and more.
