WHAT YOU VISIT
- Mayan Ruins of Tulum
One of the best preserved Mayan ruins, Tulum (pronounced too-LOOM) is an ancient pre-Columbian Mayan kingdom built on cliffs above the Caribbean Sea. Tulum means "wall," and this protected, walled city was one of the very few of its kind that the ancients built and one of the last inhabited by the Maya.
Marvel at their construction as you walk past temples like El Castillo, The Temple of the Descending God, The Temple of the Water and the Temple of the Frescos, which showcases lavish figurines and used as the observatory to study the movement of the sun.

A brief visit to this charming coastal town reveals a sunny playground boasting alabaster-white beaches and a gentle surf.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Your coach will wind its way along rural roads, past charming villages and lush vegetation as you make your way to the cliff top ruins in the Caribbean coastal state of Quintana Roo.

Special Notes:

Passengers prone to seasickness should take proper precautions. At Tulum, Mexican law requires a charge of up to $4.00 for passengers who bring a professional looking camera with interchangeable lenses. No tripods or monopods are permitted. Normal handheld camcorders are permitted. Climbing on the ruins is prohibited. Strollers are not allowed at the site. The ground can be very rough and uneven. This tour is not recommended for passengers with difficulties walking or wheelchair guests. An optional trolley shuttle from the bus to the ruins entrance (approximately 1 mile) is available for US $2.00 per person. Also, for your convenience, there are Mexican food restaurants available. Please wear light clothing, good walking shoes, and a hat and bring some bottled water and some cash. (US Dollars are widely accepted)
