Evening Canal Cruise & Tivoli Gardens

Copenhagen at night is such a wondrous delight. Your leisurely evening cruise down the Christianshavn and the Slotsholmens canals begins as you board your glass-domed boat. You'll glide past Amalienborg Palace, a palatial complex comprised of four identical palaces planned around a beautiful octagonal courtyard and the royal family's winter residence; the Church of Our Savior, renowned for its twisted, corkscrew black and gold spire that reaches over 295 feet from the ground to the top; and the old naval yards, which date back to 1619 and today, the site of Holmens Church. As you continue down the canals you'll travel past the Old Stock Exchange, and Christiansborg Palace, the site of the country's government offices, Parliament and its sovereigns since the 12th century.

You'll disembark at Gammel Strand, a street filled with brightly colored 18th and 19th century homes, and board a bus to the legendary Tivoli Gardens. As beautiful as this attraction is during the day, in the evening it's truly magical. Brightly lit at night with over 100,000 colored lights, the Gardens look as if it belongs in a fairy tale. Founded in 1843, it's one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. Known for its beautiful parade of flowers, restaurants, cafés, and concert hall, it's also famous for two spectacular rides: the wooden roller coaster that was built in 1914 is not only the world's oldest but it's still in operation! Plus, the Star Flyer ride is the world's highest carousel standing over 262 feet high! Your guide will lead you to a designated meeting place where you will have free time to explore Tivoli on your own before you'll be picked up and returned to your ship.

Special Notes:

When the ship berths at Langelinie, there is approximately a 10-minute walk from the ship to the boarding location of the canal cruise. Approximately 10 steps are required to embark and disembark the canal boats.

Tour is not recommended for passengers in wheelchairs or limited mobility.

Fare rides, etc. in Tivoli are not included in the tour price.

This tour is not available to passengers beginning or ending their cruise in Copenhagen.

The canal boat does not sail in the Nyhavn Canal district, it only passes by.

The tour segment differs when ship is docked at Ocean Quay.
