From the comfort of your air-conditioned motorcoach, your scenic 90-minute drive from the port of Civitavecchia to Rome is resplendent with exciting sights as the Tyrrenian Sea gives way to the Eternal City. Once in Rome, your drive will take you past such landmarks as Castel S. Angelo, Circus Maximus and Arch of Constantine and the Colosseum.

A short stroll from the drop off point brings you to spectacular St. Peter's Basilica. With the largest interior of any Christian church in the world, St. Peter's Basilica holds 60,000 people and is regarded as one of the holiest and the greatest of all churches of Christendom. Michelangelo deserves much of the credit for the massive reconstruction, completed in 1626, and his famous "Pieta" masterpiece is one of the many heavenly Renaissance and Baroque sculptures and mosaics located inside.

Following your tour of the Basilica, you'll have free time to shop for souvenirs and marvel at the enormity of St. Peter's Square. With its fountains and semicircular colonnades crowned with statues of the saints, it perfectly frames the Basilica's entrance.

Return to your motorcoach for a drive past such landmarks as Castel S. Angelo, the Circus Maximus, Arch of Constantine, and the Colosseum
Disembark from your motor coach at Ostiense Train Station. Centrally located, your tour can conclude here, if you are extending your stay, or continue to Fiumicino - Leonardo da Vinci Airport if you have a flight leaving the same day (from 5:00pm onwards).

This tour does not include the Colosseum inside or outside visit. Views of the Colosseum will be from the bus.
There may be an additional walk of approximately 15 minutes to reach Vatican's Square from the designated bus parking area.
This tour is valid only to passengers disembarking in Civitavecchia on flights after 5PM or later.

Tour end at Ostiense Station or at Leonardo da Vinci Airport (FCO).

Proper attire is required. Shorts and capri pants are not acceptable.

Large back-packs or bags and items such as umbrellas, bottled water, and video cameras will be checked at security check-point at St. Peters Basilica.

St. Peters Basilica is a very popular site and visited by many tourists, passengers should expect long lines and waiting time. Should the guide foresee that the wait time is longer than 45 minute, then the interior visit to these venues will be replaced by a full explanation and description while outside and more free time.

For security reasons, St. Peters Basilica may be close at any given time without prior notice. In this case a full explanation from the outside followed by free time on own will be provided to compensate for not entering the Basilica.

Should the designed motor coach drop off / pick up point for St. Peters Basilica be congested or unavailable, an alternative drop off / pick up point location will be used. Please note that an additional walking portion of 0.6 miles from / to the alternative location should be considered.
