Life is about the journey, not the destination, when you travel the famed Road to Hana, a dazzling driving route that weaves past spectacular coastal scenery, tropical rainforests and thundering waterfalls. There are more than 600 curves and 57 bridges, and from the expansive windows of your mini bus you'll see it all. Your full-day tour captures all the small-town ambience and unspoiled beauty of Hana and includes a boxed lunch.

Drive through the quaint town of Paia and on to the Kaumahina Lookout for great photos of the coast. Continue along to Keanae Peninsula and the expansive Waianapanapa State Park, 122 acres of extraordinary beauty. Its Hawaiian name translates to "glistening waters," but it is the dazzling black sand, that draws visitors from around the globe. The sand, which is actually black pebbles, was created from a lava flow several centuries ago and makes a startling contrast to the tropical surroundings and cobalt blue waters. Waves pound against jagged cliffs, and there is a secret cave tucked under a rocky outcrop that legend tells is where a Hawaiian princess hid from her cruel husband. When discovered, she was killed on the spot, and the thousands of red shrimp that appear at certain times of the year, staining the water red, is reminiscent of the blood of the slain princess.

Pause for lunch and fortify yourself for the rest of your journey in Hana Town. Then, it's on to a beautiful waterfall, where a refreshing spray and shading foliage make this a welcome respite in any traveler's day.

Your last stop of the day is Hookipa Beach lookout, known as the "mecca of windsurfing." After this wonderful day of seeing all that Hana and the west coast of Maui have to offer, sit back and relax, as you will travel back along the winding road for views of the iconic coastline and lush agricultural landscapes en route to your waiting ship.

The route will be winding and bumpy; guests who suffer from motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication. Not suitable for guests who suffer from back problems, or for pregnant women. In inclement weather, this tour may have a route deviation and not make the complete circle.
