Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

Your tour begins at the pier where you'll be picked up and transferred by van to Dyea, a national historic landmark and Skagway's rival city during the gold rush. Nature has reclaimed the land and the ride to Dyea offers many picturesque photo opportunities as your driver-guide provides narration. Dyea is home to brown bears, black bears, and eagles. And the brown bear is known to feed in Dyea's inlets during salmon-spawning season from July to August.

Upon arrival in Dyea, you'll be given an orientation and standard safety briefing before setting out on your bike ride. Guides versed in the area's ecology and history lead you along a bike route covering five miles of flat terrain for easy pedaling. Ride through the rainforest, visiting historic ruins, the Chilkoot trailhead and coastal tidal flats where eagles, salmon, colorful wildflowers and dazzling mountains are often in view. This tour is ideal for those seeking to get away from the crowds and enjoy some mild exercise in the fresh Alaskan air.
