WHAT YOU VISIT

Dyea
Located in the Taiya River Valley, this once-rousing Klondike Gold Rush town is recognized as a National Historic Landmark. Just outside of town is an authentic dogsledding summer training camp. Here, you'll meet experienced mushers and join in a "Musher Talk" for a fascinating discussion of what it takes to be a musher in punishing races like the Iditarod. After a question and answer period, you can meet the puppies that will one day lead the team. Then, you can take a leisurely self-guided hike along a scenic trail or relax in the saloon with a deck overlooking a picturesque stream.

SNACK
After cuddling time with the puppies, everyone can sit around the campfire. Of course, where there is a campfire there are s'mores, the ultimate sweet snack made with a chocolate bar and toasted marshmallows sandwiched between graham crackers. Create your own delicious treat as your guide teaches you the art of s'more roasting.

SHOPPING
Before returning to the ship, you can browse the mercantile in search of that perfect souvenir.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Your journey begins with an entertaining historic tour through downtown Skagway and along nine miles of stunning coastline to an Adventure Camp in Dyea.

Special Notes:

Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers to be prepared for any type of weather. Guests must be able to raise their legs 12 inches to accommodate several steps. In order to participate, children must be able to understand the rules of interaction with the dogs and a parent or guardian must be present to supervise any interaction.

Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.

Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children between the ages of 16 and 18 must have a signed parental consent form and provide advance notice to participate without a parent or guardian.
