What you will visit:

Dominion Astrophysical Observatory
Located high above Victoria on Little Saanich Mountain, the observatory rises above the city and affords views of the Olympic Mountain Range. The centuries-old facility served as a preeminent research facility through the years, and many discoveries about the nature of the Milky Way were made here. Today, it is used by members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. The observatory opened to the general public as the "The Centre of the Universe" and includes a small planetarium and multimedia presentations. Astronomer James Hesser led the development of the facility and has promoted education and public outreach throughout his long career.

What you will see along the way:
A city driving tour orients you to Victoria, one of the oldest cities in the Pacific Northwest. The capital city's rich visual history includes Victoria's downtown Inner Harbor, bustling Chinatown, historic Old Town, the grand Empress Hotel, and British Columbia's legislative buildings.

Special Notes:

Due to road construction in 2022, a drive past Chinatown may not be possible. Tour order may vary.
